Let’s face it — people are probably going to have more to say about the bride’s attire than they are about the tuxes. But that does not mean you should not take this opportunity to look your absolute best.
After all, it is your wedding too! And great groom fashion starts with great wedding tuxedo or suit. Before you start shopping, though, you need to determine the formality of your wedding. There are a lot of groom styles out there! Is it going to be a super-formal black-tie event? Or a more relaxed party in a backyard or by the beach? For a formal wedding, your best bet is a classic wedding tux. If you attend three to four formal events a year, you might consider buying a tuxedo, but many grooms choose to rent for this special occasion. If your wedding is more casual, though, you might be more comfortable in a suit, or even khakis and a button-down shirt. Even if you go the tuxedo route, there are still plenty of options to personalize your look. Colored cummerbunds, patterned ties and bowties, quirky cufflinks, custom tie clips, funky socks, and of course awesome shoes are all options for you to get creative when planning your wedding look. And do not forget your groomsmen! Your guys will most likely wear something in a similar style to what the groom has on, but again, their looks can be personalized. Have them wear a different style or patterned tie, vests instead of cummerbunds, no jackets, or even different color tuxedos or suits to make the groom stand out from his men (go on, it’s okay to be a diva on your wedding day!).
